Well had the afternoon off as admin leave from work and caught up on some needed tek maintenance at home:

– Upgraded this blog to WP 2.9 – Did the auto-upgrade and it took all of 3 minutes. Way cool!

– Upgraded my desktop from Ubuntu 9.04 to 9.10 – Did the in-place upgrade and it took about 2 hours for everything to download and patch. Works swimmingly! Howdy to Karmic Koala and all its neat-O features.

So, all in all, not a bad afternoon!

This weekend am heading to my brother’s place in California for T-Day. Should be a great deal for fun and am really looking forward to some time off from work. Not that I wont be reading up on the Exchange project we are doing… 😉

Friday was a mix of good and bad.

Good = Arizona Sonora Desert Museum with my girls….

Good = Movie with my girls at our favorite theater in Tucson…

Bad = The movie was “2012”… BLECH!!!

Bad = Exchange Server  crashed at work…

Good = Got it back up and running in an hour after returning from Tucson…

So, that was Friday. Just thought you should know!

Last night we had company for dinner and after they all headed out, I pulled up a chair in the back yard to watch for meteors. The stars were incredibly bright and the Milky Way was as  vivid as I had ever seen it.

The monsoon storms were in full force all around us. I could see lightning illuminating clouds that must have been 30,000 feet high down in Mexico. It was an amazing show as I sat there in a nearly  horizon to horizon bubble of clear space surrounded on all sides by storms and  watching the stars fall.

Absolutely lovely!
